MI abortion data shows slight increase
According to statistics from the Michigan Department of Community Health released in December 2012, the number of abortions in Michigan increased by 0.25 percent in 2011. The report states that 23,366 abortions were performed in Michigan during 2011 compared to 23,307 in 2010. Since 1987, there has been a 52.4 percent decrease in the number of Michigan abortions. RU-486 abortion dangers reported
The Food and Drug Administration released an "adverse event summary" for the abortion drug mifepristone, also known as RU-486. The report indicates that 14 women in the United States have died after taking the abortion drug. The report also notes that there were 2,207 adverse events (or complications), 612 hospitalizations, and 339 cases of where women experienced so much blood loss, they required blood transfusions. Red flags surround FDA approval of ella
On August 13, 2010, the Food and Drug Administration approved a new drug called “ella” (also known as ulipristal acetate) for use as a emergency contraceptive. Prolife groups are concerned ella doesn’t act solely by preventing ovulation but also acts by preventing a human embryo from implanting in a mother's womb. MORE
