Abortion data shows long-term decrease

Both national and Michigan statistics show an encouraging trend of decreasing abortions. In Michigan, there were 27,151 reported abortions in 2015, down 1.7 percent from 2014, and 44.7 percent overall from their high in 1987. Nationally there were an estimated 926,200 abortions in 2014, down 42.4 percent from their high in 1990.

What are Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton?

On January 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down two life-changing decisions, Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton. Together these decisions by unelected justices drastically changed the abortion laws of all fifty states, blocking numerous laws protecting the lives of unborn children.

Prolife groups are concerned ella doesn’t act solely by preventing ovulation but can also act by causing the death of a child in her earliest days.
