For those who joined Right to Life of Michigan for Life Lobby Day on Thursday, December 6, thank you! Your presence did make a difference. Four training sessions were planned for Life Lobby Day, but there wasn't enough room, every seat was taken. An overflow room was used, too, to provide briefings. More than 800 prolife people joined together to support life-affirming legislation.
The main-stream media may have focused on another protest at the Capitol, but the peaceful, prayerful attendance of prolife people had an impact.
UPDATES:
Abortion Insurance Opt-Out (S.B. 612, 613 & 614). This legislation passed in the House and Senate on December 6. This legislation is going to Gov. Rick Snyder for his signature.
The "Prolife Bus" (H.B. 5711). The Prolife Bus bill was passed by the Senate with a 27-10 vote on December 12.
Concurring votes were taken in the Michigan House and Senate on December 14. The last stop for the Prolife Bus bill is the Governor's desk.
Action Needed
It is time to celebrate and thank our prolife legislators with calls and e-mail messages!
More than 600 letters asking for support of prolife legislation were delivered to Gov. Synder's office in the Capitol on Thursday. Your voice was heard! Thank you again for standing up for women and for standing up for life.
