Political Action Committee

RLM-PAC is the political action arm of Right to Life of Michigan. Since, by law, RLM cannot endorse or actively support candidates for public office, a political arm is necessary. Experience has shown that election time is a most important time to build legislative support for laws to protect life.

Before endorsing or aiding candidates, the Political Action Committee (PAC) must follow a carefully established criteria which includes a candidate survey and interview, an examination of past voting record, a gauging of the candidate's credibility and a judgment of the particular circumstances of each race.

 

What is the PAC?

The RLM-PAC is composed of people whose firm belief, held in common, is that human life is a vital force which has value and dignity.

We see life as deserving the protection of our Constitution and all our laws. We deem all human life of such great importance that we sacrifice willingly to ensure that protection for the unborn is again upheld in our Constitution.

Aside from our great ideal held in common - protecting the unborn, those with disabilities and the elderly frail - we are a divergent people from widely varied backgrounds with varied viewpoints: conservative, moderate and liberal.

The PAC's role.

Many elections are won or lost by a small percentage of the total vote...usually 5% or less. This is called the "swing vote" because an important public issue and effective organization can cause voters to "swing" toward one candidate or another.

Abortion is one of the most important issues to ever confront our nation. The most effective way that prolifers can help prolife candidates - and directly influence an election - is through direct endorsement. 

The RLM-PAC is designed to identify and endorse the most effective voices for the unborn - for those who have no voice themselves. 

The RLM-PAC makes endorsements without regard to party affiliation and supports candidates at the local, state and federal levels. A strong voice for the unborn and others whose lives are threatened is our only goal. Vote Prolife!
