RLM's Legislative Day a Huge Success

May 9 could not have been a more beautiful day in Lansing with the sun shining and a group of more than 400 prolife people meeting to learn more about upcoming legislation.

Right to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing said, "Legislative Day is always a highlight of the year, but this year was especially impressive."

Senator Bill VanRegenmorter spoke on the Prenatal Protection Act and what a privilege it is to work with Barbara Listing, RLM president, Ed Rivet, legislative director, and Kristen Hemker, legislative liaison for Right to Life of Michigan.

Many who attended Legislative Day traveled for hours to learn more about prolife legislation and to lobby their representatives and senators during a luncheon.

Mark Pickup motivated the crowd after lunch by encouraging all to embrace the challenge of our forefathers by respecting all life, most importantly the unborn and those who are physically or mentally disabled.

Great speakers and excellent prolife information weren't the only exciting parts of the day. Great give-aways included drawings for having a picture taken with Lt. Governor Dick Posthumus, Sen. Bill VanRegenmorter; a flag, certificates for next year's Legislative Day and the upcoming RLM Conference in Flint.

Now is the time to plan for next year's Legislative Day, May 8, 2002. Plan to get tickets early – it may be a sell-out prolife crowd!
