Past, Present and Future Prolifer Making a Difference
Right to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing said, “Each year I enjoy reading the essays from prolife young people; their dedication to prolife activities is inspiring. I am confident that these seeds of leadership today will make for great prolife leaders in the years to come!” An excerpt of Miller’s essay is below. “It is imperative that today’s youth, future voters, be prolife if abortion is to be eradicated. Just as the prolife cause could not hold without our veterans, it will not be able to hold without the ample support of the youth. “What can young people do to support life? First and foremost, they can speak up. Conversations about life issues can and do come up at school. Truly, most young people do not have any idea what the word “abortion” entails. They do not know that 93 percent of women regret their abortions, or that most women seeking abortions don’t feel like they’re making a choice at all. . . Truly, when most young people learn the truth, they will accept it. But they will only know the truth if their peers become educated about abortion and are courageous enough to discuss it. To back up the claims they make to their friends, the prolife youth should go to the Life March, pray in front of abortion mills, and otherwise get publicly involved with the prolife movement. They should be proud of it, and share what they are doing with their friends. If enough young people follow these relatively simple ideas, then I’m sure that many pro-choice youth will become staunch prolifers.” |
