Right to Life of Michigan

To Whom Are You Talking?

When someone calls and says they are with “Right to Life,” you might want to make sure you know what organization you’re giving to. In recent months, several of our donors have learned that they gave money to an organization they thought was Right to Life of Michigan but turned out to be another organization.

In order to help past and prospective donors know that they are giving to Right to Life of Michigan, our callers follow a basic pattern. They will first identify themselves by name. They will also say that they are from “Right to Life of Michigan” and that they are calling on behalf of Barbara Listing, Right to Life of Michigan’s president, before describing a specific project on which RLM is working.

Families who receive calls from other organizations who are claiming to do prolife work, but are not calling from Right to Life of Michigan, should be wary. There are a few organizations who have little to no presence and influence in our state’s or nation’s capital, but they claim to be lobbying for important prolife legislation. Throughout the nation and in this state, Right to Life of Michigan is a leading voice in the prolife movement. Gifts given to Right to Life of Michigan stay in Michigan and are used in our state to save lives.

If you receive a call from an organization claiming to be prolife and want to make sure that the organization soliciting is really working to help the prolife cause, feel free to call the State Central Office of Right to Life of Michigan at (616) 532-2300.
