Right to Life of Michigan

Awarding prolife youth

Right to Life of Michigan has developed a new award to encourage Michigan’s prolife high school students to keep up the good work.

Calling all high-school seniors! If you are involved in the prolife movement and want to continue educating others that all human life is precious and irreplaceable, please contact your local Right to Life of Michigan affiliate group.

In order to honor the courageous work of Michigan’s prolife high-school students, Right to Life of Michigan Educational Fund has established a new annual award. The Right to Life of Michigan Educational Fund will give the Outstanding Prolife Youth Award and a $250 cash gift to a high school senior who has clearly demonstrated his/her commitment to the prolife cause.

In addition to the recognition of receiving Michigan’s Prolife Youth Award, the student will also be featured in the RLM News and be a special guest on LifeBeat, a state-wide radio program focusing on prolife issues.

Each of Right to Life of Michigan’s affiliates will be given the opportunity to nominate one student for the award. A committee will review the nominated students. The award will be based on the student’s application, participation in prolife activities, and a 200-300 word essay about what his/her generation can do to promote a positive prolife message.

Students should submit their application and essay to their affiliate by November 15, 2002. Affiliates will then have until March 31, 2003, to nominate their chosen prolife high school senior. The final decision will be announced by April 30, 2003.

For more information regarding this award, please call Amanda Peterman at (616) 532-2300.
