Saving lives through public transportation
Grand Rapids Right to Life has recently launched a three month advertising
campaign using Grand Rapids' buses. The billboards, which reach
out to women who are pregnant, feature Right to Life of Michigan's
1-800-57WOMAN number. The campaign, which is running to the end
of November, includes twelve exterior billboards on the entrance
side of the buses and 20 interior billboards. Since Grand Rapids
buses change routes, these billboards will be seen throughout the
entire city.
Grand Rapids Right to Life was informed that their billboards will
theoretically be seen by 121,500 people in the Grand Rapids area
over the next three months. Some of these people will be women who
are uncertain of what to do with the unborn child developing in
their womb while others viewing the billboards could have friends
and family members who are in a crisis pregnancy and need advice.
Right to Life of Michigan billboards are a wonderful and productive
way of reaching out to women who need our help while at the same
time relating a peaceful prolife message to the community. Grand
Rapids Right to Life has thoughtfully used its city's public transportation
service as a way of getting their life saving message across.
For a prolife group to make a difference in a community, the community
needs to know that a prolife group is active and willing to participate
in the prolife educational process. Having a presence in the community
can be achieved by displaying a prolife message in the community.
Right to Life of Michigan Educational Fund's Vital Resources Periodical
highlights materials produced by RLM Ed Fund and provides suggestions
for reaching out to communities with the prolife message.
