Conference Reflections
On September 28 and 29, the Holiday Inn Gateway Centre in Flint
hosted Right to Life of Michigan's 28th Annual Banquet and Conference.
These events helped to educate hundreds of Michigan's prolife citizenry
about important prolife issues. Wesley Smith, an attorney and author,
started the festivities Friday afternoon at Professional Day with
an address on the dangers of embryonic stem cell research and cloning.
Later that evening, the banquet crowd was moved by Pastor Levon
Yuille's emotional address for the unborn. After a night filled
with promising dreams for the future of the prolife movement, Conference
attendees awakened bright and early the next morning for a day brimming
with even more educational opportunities. Conference events included
a second rousing speech from Pastor Levon Yuille at the Prayer Breakfast,
National Rock for Life director Bryan Kemper's informative workshop
on "How to reach today's youth with the prolife message," and a lunch with Michigan's Lieutenant Governor Dick Posthumus.
The Conference was a huge success as many from across the state
enjoyed a weekend of educational and enlightening experiences. Right
to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing said, "Conference
each year is one way we can unite to protect the unborn. The joy
and encouragement from being with prolife people is one revitalizing
aspect of Right to Life of Michigan's Conference."
For those who missed the experience this year, now is the time
to mark your calendar for next year. The Right to Life of Michigan
Conference will be September 27 & 28, 2002.
