One Less Abortionist in Michigan

Recently, the Michigan Department of Community Health issued an order which immediately suspended the medical license of Pornpichit Sethavarangura. Sethavarangura was an abortionist who was performing abortions in Detroit. His license was suspended because of his practice of breaking Michigan's prolife laws by performing abortions without a 24-hour waiting period and performing abortions on minors without parental consent. The web page of the Michigan Department of Community Health notes they suspended his license because they believe "the public's health, safety, and welfare warrant emergency action." It also noted how Sethavarangura's patients' charts were "routinely substandard" and that he "improperly disposed of hazardous material such as materials or tissues extracted during (abortion) procedures."

Sethavarangura's willingness to break Michigan's prolife laws was exposed by a Detroit television station in July of 2007 when a reporter went undercover with a hidden camera to expose Sethavarangura's abortion clinic. The three-part news report showed the abortionist offering low-priced, unsanitary abortions in what appeared to be an abandoned building. The report also showed Sethavarangura offering to perform abortions "on the spot" and without parental consent.

While there is one less abortionist in Michigan, the fact remains that other abortionists keep hurting women and killing babies. The prolife work of Right to Life of Michigan continues each day. Women who are faced with an untimely pregnancy deserve better than abortion. Right to Life of Michigan offers help.
