Proponents of embryonic stem cell research often cite "potentials" of embryo killing stem cell research, yet fail to mention that a human life is destroyed every time stem cells are removed from an embryo.

To counter this lopsided media attention, we need your help. The issue of stem cell research is regularly framed as an all or nothing debate. This, however, is far from the truth. Currently, adult stem cells and stem cells from umbilical cords are helping people overcome a variety of illnesses. These stem cells are not controversial because they don't require human life to be destroyed in order for research to take place. While some scientists talk about the "potential" of embryonic stem cells, adult stem cells are already helping people.
