Right to Life of Michigan

Conference Reflections

Arriving from the far reaches of our state, hundreds of Right to Life of Michigan 2007 Conference attendees gathered, ate, shared stories, listened to speakers and participated in several different workshops throughout the day. The Saturday, September 22, Annual Conference opened with a presentation by Dr. Daniel J. Pepin as he discussed the current status of stem cell research and the lies and truths surrounding the heated debate. Guests also had the opportunity to attend one of several conference workshops throughout the day. The interactive workshops offered tools to improve fund raising and finance techniques as well as community, minority and teen outreach methods. Special guest and luncheon speaker, Michael Clancy, received a standing ovation for sharing his heart warming journey following the 1999 picture he took of baby Samuel during a photo shoot of a 21-week in-utero surgery. And finally, the afternoon ended with the second general session featuring Ed Rivet, Legislative Director for Right to Life of Michigan, who provided a stem cell speaker training session. Be sure to mark your calendar for September 27, 2008, for next year’s Right to Life of Michigan Conference!
