Are you voter ready?
Have you registered to vote?
Governor Jennifer Granholm's veto of the Legal Birth Definition Act
(LBDA), a direct slap at every person who believes in the sanctity
of life - not to mention her continued approval of partial birth abortion,
has energized prolifers around the state. Right to Life of Michigan
will take the issue directly to the people of Michigan through The
People's Override, effectively bypassing the governor.
The big question is: Are YOU "voter" ready?
Are you ready to begin collecting signatures for this citizens' initiative?
Are you ready to sign a petition? Have you been spreading the word
about Gov. Granholm's unconscionable veto? Have you shared the violent
procedure known as partial birth abortion with family, friends and
neighbors - a procedure opposed by 70 percent of Americans, including
many who call themselves "pro-choice?"
A citizens' initiative takes 325,000 valid signatures from registered
voters to be successful. Are you ready...are you registered to vote?
When the initiative process starts, it will take a dedicated force
of registered prolife voters to gather names of 325,000 registered
voters. "Just anyone" won't do. Only valid, registered voters
count - PLUS - only registered voters are qualified to gather signatures
on petitions. Once again, we'll ask: "Are you ‘voter' ready?
Are you a registered voter?"
Who may register to vote? You must be: a U.S. citizen, at least 18
years of age by election day and a resident of Michigan and the city
or township where you are applying to register to vote. You can even
register by mail.
If you or other prolifers you know are not registered to vote, NOW
is the time to register with your local county, city, town, village
or township clerk or at the Secretary of State branch office near
you. Some state agencies as well as military recruitment centers also
provide registration services. If you have moved to a new city or
township, you must re-register to vote. If you have moved within the
same city or township, you must report your new address. Michigan
law requires the same residential address for both your driver's license
and your voter registration. It's easy and painless - and you'll be
ready to guarantee life to the most helpless members of our human
family.
You can go on-line to the Secretary of State web site www.michigan.gov/sos/
and click on the Voter Registration Form to the left. Or, you can
visit the Right to Life of Michigan web site www.rtl.org and get a
Voter Registration Form. Whichever way you choose - be ready to tell
Governor Jennifer Granholm that her agenda of death will not stand...that
partial birth abortion will NOT be allowed in the state of Michigan...that
partially-born babies are humans with all the rights and privileges
of personhood.
