Right to Life of Michigan

Janet Kukuk October 2, 1942 - November 19, 2000

November 19, 2000, marked the passing of a great advocate for the unborn, Michigan State Representative Janet Kukuk. For the past 25 years, Janet worked tirelessly for the prolife movement, helping to found crisis pregnancy centers and sponsoring legislation to protect women and their unborn children. During her battle against breast cancer, she stood to decry the false compassion of assisted suicide. Like all good mothers, she was both tough and full of kindness. At the time of her death, still pending in the Legislature was House Bill 5548, which Janet sponsored to close loopholes in Michigan’s 24-hour waiting period law.

In honor of her dedication to the sanctity of life, RLM remains steadfastly committed to seeing Janet’s legislation become law. True champions for life like Janet do not come along everyday. She will be greatly missed.
