Making a statement with crosses
A group of people from St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand
Haven, Michigan, surrounded their church with crosses. The wood
was donated and so was the factory space to make the 4,000 crosses.
Young and old alike met on several occasions to manufacture, paint
and place in the ground 4,000 pink and blue crosses.
The police department received numerous calls in protest, but
the church also had wonderful comments. Father Michael Shea talked
about the crosses at every Mass that weekend. Most people were
amazed to learn that 4,000 abortions are performed in the United
States per day. On January 22, the church had a candlelight vigil
and about 125 people participated.
