Prolife ads, toll-free numbers offer
assistance to women, men
Why did Right to Life of Michigan Educational Fund start
airing prolife television ads with a toll-free telephone
number? The simple answer: to help women and save babies.
There was and is a need for women to have a toll-free number
to call if they are faced with an unplanned pregnancy or
if they suffer from a past abortion. Also, there are others
who are hurting from abortion: men.
In the abortion debate, frequently the unborn child and the father
are set aside. The decision regarding a pregnancy, according to
abortion proponents, only involves a woman and her doctor.
When asked, men feel differently. Because men do feel the ramifications
of abortion, new commercials were created by Compass Arts geared
towards men, but speak to women as well. And, as before, they
are able to communicate the truths in a compassionate and beautifully
told package.
On November 15, Right to Life of Michigan Educational Fund once
again went on the air with the Direct Connect television campaign.
The television commercials offer a toll-free phone number. With
the help of more than 100 crisis pregnancy centers across the
state, thousands of women and men in crisis pregnancy or post
abortive situations can be connected for counseling and assistance.
Barbara Listing, president of Right to Life of Michigan, said,
"One way to help women facing an unplanned pregnancy is to encourage
men to share responsibility."
Right to Life of Michigan will air supportive TV commercials
throughout the state. The toll free numbers displayed during the
commercials are 1-800-57WOMAN and 1-877 LIFE OPTIONS.
Help is only one call away.
