Marketing for abortion – abortion industry drops to new low

You
. Just saying you is a productive way of getting someone's attention, especially if you don't know them. This is what the National Abortion Federation is banking on with their new ads for RU-486, the abortion pill. Due to RU-486's lack of demand, NAF started a national advertising campaign for this dangerous drug cocktail which ends the life of a developing human being. Advertising in magazines geared toward young women such as Vanity Fair, Glamour, Self, and other national magazines, NAF is hoping to boost the drugs' sales through marketing.
The ad features an attractive young woman and claims "You have the freedom to choose...And now, you have another ‘safe' abortion choice." The word You is, of course, in a much larger font and in bold lettering. Because You're what matters to the abortion industry, right? Wrong. Dead wrong.

The ad says "safe abortion choice." This is inaccurate because NAF is well-aware that RU-486 is far from safe. The manufacturer of misoprostol (also known as Cytotec), which is part of RU-486, warns abortionists about "serious events" such as maternal death and "uterine hyperstimulation, rupture, and perforation" which can take place when Cytotec is taken for an "off-label" use such as abortion.

The NAF's ad should say "Your money" because that's what they're really after. Does the NAF really care about you? It isn't apparent; NAF never mentions any of the serious and potentially deadly complications of this "choice" in its ads. It's also crystal clear that they don't even give a passing thought to the innocent life that is taken when a mother makes this "choice." The transparent goal of this ad is to get young women to think of themselves, and only themselves, when making a decision in an unexpected pregnancy.

The NAF has spent $2 million on ads hoping that women will forget that there is another unique individual involved in their decision. Hopefully, they'll remember and choose an option that upholds life. Better options than abortion are available and they're easier to live with.
