Right to Life of Michigan

Protecting human life

Don't miss out on our 30th annual conference

Shining your light on life takes motivation, education and the right tools. Defending human life to friends and family members can be daunting, but it doesn't have to be. Helping people become equipped to support others is what Right to Life of Michigan does best. As the largest state prolife organization in the country, Right to Life of Michigan can help take away the fears associated with prolife involvement. Learn from seasoned prolife people and exciting, renowned speakers at the upcoming Right to Life of Michigan Conference.

The 30th annual Right to Life of Michigan Conference, in Southfield at the Westin, will enable attendees to shine their light on life. Special speakers like Kay Coles James for the September 26 banquet will educate and inspire on life issues. After being nominated by President George W. Bush, the United States Senate unanimously confirmed Kay Coles James to be Director of the U.S. Office of Personnel Management on July 11, 2001. Director James is a member of the President's Management Council and Chair of the Council's Subcommittee for Human Capital/Workforce Management. The Council has been charged by the President to ensure the implementation of his bold agenda of reform. James has also been appointed by the President to serve on the White House Fellows Commission.

Other speakers scheduled for September 27 include Dr. Richard J. Alberta, Georgette Forney, Brian Foley, Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox and Donetta Robben.

Prolife students also have a distinctive day planned with the theme Defend the Truth.

Students for Life Day 2003 will not only be an exciting day packed with music, giveaways, food, and speakers but will also be a great time for prolife teens to learn how to defend basic prolife truths. Too often prolife teens shy away when confronted by pro-choice arguments. Students for Life Day 2003 will help prolife teens know that the truth is on their side and that they don't need to be afraid to speak up for life.

The speaker is Amy Stephens, a woman who has experienced teen pregnancy, abortion, and has worked as an abortion clinic counselor. Amy Stephens speaks on the real life trauma of abortion, the call to abstinence and the critical need to extend understanding and training to today's youth.

"There is a thread that weaves its way through my life — from the pregnancies to the abortions to the infertility to the in-vitro fertilization to the abstinence education — it tells me to keep talking," she says. "It compels me to do what I do today."

Plan now to attend the 30th annual Right to Life of Michigan Conference on September 26 and 27.
