Championing Crisis Pregnancy Centers
Sometimes we need a friend to take us by the hand during a difficult time in
life. About half of American women will face an unplanned pregnancy in their
lifetime. Unfortunately, statistics reveal half of unborn babies who were unplanned
will be aborted because mothers felt they had no other options.
Stirred by these alarming numbers, pregnancy care centers across the
country work to provide practical help, emotional support and life-options to
women facing unplanned pregnancies. Pregnancy centers are that friend to many
mothers who are faced with an untimely pregnancy.
With some elected officials in Washington, D.C., determined to discredit and
even disband these medical care clinics, it is extremely crucial that the prolife
community comes together and do all it can to champion its efforts to care for
women.
Michigan is blessed to have more than 100 pregnancy care centers that
offer a variety of services including immediate material assistance as well as
pregnancy testing, ultrasound technology, medical care, counseling and additional
referrals.
The Right to Life of Michigan Educational Fund is in place to help women and
families who are faced with an unplanned pregnancy find the help they need. Yellow
Book ads, state-wide television commercials, billboards and community outreach
efforts work to connect mothers with the services they need to provide life to their
unborn children.
Often, the Right to Life of Michigan educational resource centers are also
serving the immediate needs of individuals in their communities by continued
communication and partnership with pregnancy care centers throughout the
state. In addition to referring women and donating nursery items, Right to Life of
Michigan encourages volunteerism with pregnancy centers. Right to Life of
Michigan members have helped to assist with the practical needs of families such
as transportation, medical expenses, child care and groceries.
