Gee,
I never thought of that!
I'm celebrating the anniversary of my first year as Director of Gift Planning with Right to Life of Michigan. I can't begin to tell you how God has blessed our work over the past 12 months. It is very exciting to be part of this incredible grassroots organization - I mean that sincerely. One of the things I like best about my role in Charitable Gift Planning is meeting you! Having the opportunity to learn more about who you are, and your commitment to the prolife movement in Michigan, is very helpful to my work. You have become my teachers - I learn from each of you whenever we have a chance to talk. I value those conversations and the lessons I learn each and every day. I understood very quickly that our supporters are the heart and soul of RLM! My thanks today is for your feedback. Many of you have told us that RLM has provided the tools of motivation and the resources to complete a will or trust - something you may have never done on your own for a long time, if at all. You've also told us that completing these documents has far more to do with life than they do with death - the ongoing lives of your family, loved ones, and the work of causes you feel passionate about. These are important issues, and RLM would be less than a friend if we did not bring them to your attention. Thank you for letting us know we are making a difference in your lives - that the service we provide is valuable. I also want to thank you for sharing your interest in our Charitable Gift Planning program. I wish I had a nickel for every time I've heard someone say, "You know, Kathy, even though we're so very involved in and committed to RLM, we've never thought about putting the organization in our will/trust until this conversation. I can't believe we never thought of it." In short, my job is to help you define the important things in your life and assist your efforts to get there. We help you sketch the road map of priorities, and then identify the charitable causes that you may wish to provide for. Of course, there's never any obligation for our complimentary services which include free brochures on wills, trusts, powers of attorney; gift and estate planning expertise; technical and legal support for your professional advisors; and complete confidentiality. I'm hoping to meet many more of you over the next 12 months. I know our program will be successful because God's hand is clearly on the work we all do in His name. So, let's get together and talk about the goals and priorities you have for you and your family, the charitable organizations you support, and how Right to Life of Michigan can help you get there. I'd be pleased to stop by on one of my many trips across the state. We can arrange an informal meeting anytime. Simply email kbcrombie@rtl.org or call (248) 552-3742.
