Michigan's 2006 Abortion Statistics Released

According to recently released statistics, the number of abortions performed in Michigan slightly increased in 2006 compared to 2005. The report from the Michigan Department of Community Health states that 25,636 abortions were performed in Michigan during 2006 compared to 25,209 in 2005, an increase of 1.7 percent. This is still the second lowest number of annual abortions ever recorded in Michigan and represents a dramatic 47.8 percent decrease since 1987. For more information, click here.
