Right to Life of Michigan Conference recap

The 38th Annual Right to Life of Michigan State Conference was Saturday, September 24. The day was packed with people, inspiring speakers and workshops. Those who attended were able to bring a prolife message and enthusiasm back to their community.

Right to Life of Michigan Board Member and Educational Trustee Fred Patin served as Master of Ceremonies in the morning. Keynote speakers included former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline and Prolife Mom and Defender of Life Ellen Salter.

Phill addressed The Rise of an Empire and Failing of a Nation and Ellen spoke on Embracing the Gift of Life No Matter How It’s Wrapped. Ellen and her husband, Mike, were also given the Life Achievement Award for their prolife volunteer work.

Ellen and Mike are outspoken advocates for life and protectors of their youngest dauther, 9-year-old Meghan. Meghan requires around-the-clock care. Ellen and Mike are the proud parents of Lauren, Michael, Shannon and Meghan.

Michigan Senator Arlan Meekhof provided an update on the Partial Birth Abortion Ban and Mallory Tanis wowed the crowed with her winning Oratory Contest speech. But don’t take our word that the day was great. Here are a few comments from some who attended the conference:

Kathy said, “My first time here, but not my last. I loved it!”

Debbie said, “I want to stand up and make a difference.”

Rusty said, “Best ever in 38 years!”

Kathleen said, “I learned so much new information.”

Pam said, “Moved me to tears and with a determination to be a voice.”
